Simona Corso è professore associato di Letteratura Inglese presso l’Università degli Studi Roma Tre. Si è laureata in Lettere Classiche presso l’Università degli Studi di Palermo, ha conseguito il Master in Italian Studies and Comparative Literature presso la Brown University (Providence, Rhode Island) e il Dottorato di ricerca in Letterature Comparate presso l’Università degli Studi Roma Tre. I suoi interessi di ricerca includono la tradizione del romanzo europeo e il romanzo contemporaneo in lingua inglese; la letteratura inglese del Settecento; il mito di Robinson Crusoe; la ricezione di Shakespeare nella cultura contemporanea; il rapporto tra letteratura e arti visive; la letteratura comparata e la teoria della letteratura.
Ha pubblicato Narrating the Passions: New Perspectives from Modern and Contemporary Literature (edited by S. Corso e B. Guilding, Peter Lang 2017), Postcolonial Shakespeare (a cura di M. d’Amico e S. Corso, Edizioni di Storia e Letteratura 2009), Letteratura e Antropologia (a cura di M. Bonafin e S. Corso, Edizioni dell’Orso 2008), Automi, termometri, fucili. L’immaginario della macchina nel romanzo inglese e francese del Settecento (Edizioni di Storia e Letteratura 2004), saggi su Shakespeare, Ben Jonson, James Joyce, Martin Amis, Derek Walcott, V.S. Naipaul, J.M. Coetzee, Philip Roth, sul mito di Robinson Crusoe, e lavori di critica tematica. Scrive per L’Indice, Leggendaria, Stilos, l’immaginazione. Il suo romanzo Capodanno al Tennis Club (Sellerio 2002) ha vinto il Premio Mondello Opera Prima 2003.
Nel 2012-2013 è stata Visiting Research Fellow presso l’IGRS (Institute for Germanic and Romance Studies) di Londra.

Simona Corso is associate professor of English Literature at the University of Rome “Roma Tre”. She graduated in Classical Literatures from the University of Palermo, completed a MA in Italian Studies and Comparative Literature at Brown University (Providence, Rhode Island), and was awarded a PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of Rome “Roma Tre”. Her research interests cover the tradition of the European novel and the contemporary novel in English; Eighteenth Century English literature; the myth of Robinson Crusoe; the reception of Shakespeare in contemporary culture; narratology; visual and material cultures.
